잃어버린 동전

 

누가복음 15:8

“어느 여자가 열 드라크마가 있는데 하나를 잃으면 등불을 켜고 집을 쓸며 찾도록 부지런히 찾지 아니하겠느냐”

 

여자는 원래 자기 것이었던 동전을 잃어버리자, 등불을 켜고 집안을 샅샅이 찾았습니다. 하나님께서도 한 사람 한 사람을 그렇게 찾으십니다. 우리의 영혼은 원래 하나님의 것이기 때문입니다. 이 삶과 우리의 육신은 그저 잠시 빌려받은 것에 불과합니다.

 

동전은 스스로 아무것도 할 수 없습니다. 동전이 할 수 있는 것은 그저 불빛에 반짝이는 것뿐입니다.

우리 역시 혼자의 힘으로 자신과 싸워 이기기도 어렵고, 유혹이 가득한 이 세상에서 하나님께로 가는 길을 끝까지 걸어가기란 쉽지 않습니다. 내가 할 수 있는 일은 단 한순간이라도 하나님 앞에서 반짝이는 것입니다. 하나님께 도움을 구하는 마음들, 죄를 회개하는 마음들, 예수님의 마음을 닮아 다른 이를 긍휼히 여기는 마음들 세상을 창조하신 살아계신 하나님을 믿고 그분을 조금이라도 느끼려는 마음들 그리고 영원을 소망하며 지금의 삶에서 영원을 준비하고자 하는 마음들… 이러한 마음들이야말로 하나님의 등불 아래서 반짝이는 마음이 아닐까요?

오늘 하루도 온 마음을 다해서 하나님의 등불 아래 반짝일 수 있는, 올바른 동기를 가진 마음으로 살아가고자 합니다.

살아계신 나의 하나님, 제 힘으로는 아무것도 할 수 없기에 오늘도 하나님의 도움이 필요합니다. 제 마음을 찾아주시고, 기억해 주시며, 살펴 주시기를 바랍니다.

 

The Lost Coin

 

Luke 15:8

“Or suppose a woman has ten silver coins and loses one. Doesn’t she light a lamp, sweep the house and search carefully until she finds it?”

 

When the woman lost a coin that originally belonged to her, she lit a lamp and searched the house carefully. In the same way, God seeks each and every one of us. That’s because our souls originally belong to Him. This life and our bodies are merely borrowed for a time

A coin cannot do anything by itself. The only thing it can do is shine when light falls on it.

In the same way, we cannot win against our struggles on our own. Walking on God's path in this world full of temptations is not easy. But what I can do is shine, even for a moment, before God.

Having a heart that asks for God's help, a heart that repents of sin, a heart that shows mercy to others like Jesus did, a heart that believes in the living God who created the world and wants to feel His presence, a heart that longs for eternity and prepares for it in this life… Aren't these the hearts that shine under God's light?

Today, I want to live with all my heart, shining under God's light, with the right purpose.

My Living God, I can do nothing on my own. I need Your help today. Please find my heart, remember me, and watch over me.
