헤롯과 바리새인의 누룩

 

“예수께서 경계하여 가라사대 삼가 바리새인들의 누룩과 헤롯의 누룩을 주의하라 하신대”

마가복음 8:15

 

헤롯은 세례 요한이 의로운 사람인 줄 알고 보호했으며, 세례요한을 통해 말씀을 들었을 때 그의 마음에 무언가 움직였고 그 말씀을 듣는 것을 즐겼습니다. 그러나 결국 그의 마음 속에서 말씀을 받아들이지 않은 것 같습니다. 그래서 세례 요한을 죽이려는 부인의 요청앞에서, 헤롯은 옳은 것을 지킬 힘이 없었습니다.

그는 올바른 것을 본 듯했지만, 뿌리없이 생명없는 상태와 같았습니다.

 

바리새인들은 끝없이 예수님을 시험하며, 그분이 하나님의 아들이심을 믿지 않았고, 예수님을 비방하며 자신들의 법이 옳다고 여겼습니다. 그들은 믿음이 있는 듯 보였으나, 사실은 다른 곳을 보고 있었습니다. 그 안에는 살아 계신 하나님을 경외하고 그분의 아들을 믿는 믿음이 없었습니다.

하나님을 알고 믿는 듯 보였지만, 실제 그들의 마음은 하나님께서 원하시는 것이 아니었습니다.

 

예수님께서는 이런 누룩이 우리안에서 얼마나 빠르게 하나님 보시기에 옳지 않은 것들을 자라게 하는지 아셨고, 그래서 경고하셨습니다.

 

누룩은 그 종류가 무엇이든, 반죽을 부풀릴 수 있는 굉장한 힘을 가지고 있습니다.

그래서 어떤 누룩이 내 안에 살아 있느냐에 따라 오늘 나와 나의 생활에서 풍겨 나오는 향기와 결과가 다를 것입니다.

 

예수님은 항상 모든것에대해 하나님께 영광을 돌리셨습니다.

내 자신이 아닌 다른 누군가에게 모든 영광을 돌리는 일은, 나를 비우고 낮추지 않으면 절대 할 수 없는 일입니다.

그런 예수님의 누룩이 내 안에 있을 때, 그 굉장한 힘이 나로하여금 예수님을 닮아가며 오늘을 살수있게 도와줄것입니다.그리고, 불평하지 않게하고, 의심하지 않게 하며, 선택에 있어 주저함없이 올바른것을 택하도록 도와줄것이고, 무엇이든, 하나님을 믿기때문에, 기꺼이 받아들이는 마음을 갖도록 도와줄 것입니다.

 

 

The Yeast of Herod and the Pharisees

 

“Be careful,” Jesus warned them. “Watch out for the yeast of the Pharisees and that of Herod.””

Mark 8:15

 

Herod knew that John the Baptist was a righteous man and tried to protect him. When he listened to John’s words, something moved in his heart, and he enjoyed hearing them. However, in the end, it seems he did not truly accept the message. So, when his wife asked to kill John the Baptist, Herod didn’t have the strength to do what was right. He seemed to recognize what was right, but he was like a lifeless state without roots.

 

The Pharisees continually tested Jesus, not believing that He was the Son of God. They mocked Him and insisted that their laws were right. They seemed to have faith, but in reality, they were looking in the wrong direction. Their hearts did not have the fear of the living God and the belief in His Son. They appeared to know and believe in God, but in truth, their hearts were not what God desired

 

Jesus knew how quickly this kind of "yeast" in our hearts can grow things that are not right in God's eyes. and that’s why He warned us about it.

 

Yeast, no matter what kind it is, has the powerful ability to make dough rise. In the same way, depending on what kind of yeast is alive within us, the fragrance and the results of our lives will be different.

 

Jesus always gave all glory to God for everything. Giving all the glory to someone else, instead of ourselves, is something we cannot do unless we empty and humble ourselves. When that yeast of Jesus is in me, its amazing power will help me grow to be like Him and live today. It helps me not complain, not doubt, and choose what is right without hesitation. It also helps me to accept everything with a willing heart, because I trust in God.
