불가능을 가능하게 하시는 하나님

 

누가복음 10장 25절-37절

여기에는 길에서 강도들을 만난 사람을 도운 선한 사마리아인의 비유가 있습니다.

사마리아인의 사랑과 자비는 참으로 위대했습니다.

저는 이 이야기를 계속해서 되새기며 깊이 생각해 보았지만, 여전히 제 자신에게 이렇게 말할 수밖에 없습니다. ‘나는 그렇게 할 수 없어.’

저는 그렇게 사랑이 많고 자비로운 마음을 가져본 적이 없으며, 지금도 그렇지 않습니다.

 

많은 순간, 사랑과 자비로운 마음을 가져야 한다고 생각할 때마다 나는 할 수 없어라는 생각에 쉽게 낙심하곤 합니다.

그래서 선한 사마리아인의 이야기를 읽을 때, 가장 먼저 떠오른 생각도 똑같았습니다.

‘내가 어떻게 그럴 수 있지? 그건 불가능해.’

하지만 그 사마리아인처럼 되고 싶다는 간절한 마음을 품고 있을 때, 제 마음이 더욱 민감해지는 것을 느꼈습니다.

마치 누군가가 제게 이렇게 말씀하시는 것 같았습니다.

‘괜찮아, 니가 하지 못하는것은 잘못된게 아니야, 불가능한걸 가능하게 하려면 도움이 필요한거야.’

이것은 낙심되는 제 마음에 위로가 되는 메세지였습니다.

그리고 곧 깨달았습니다.

그 도움은 바로 불가능을 가능하게 하시는 하나님께로부터 온다는것을요.

선한 소망이 저를 하나님을 찾고 의지하도록 이끌었습니다.

 

만약 제가 제 질문과 생각 속에 갇혀 있기만 했다면, 하나님의 메시지를 듣지 못했을지도 모릅니다.

그랬다면, 선한 사마리아인의 비유는 제게 깨달음을 주는 살아있는 말씀이 아니라, 성경에 적혀 있는 여러 비유 중 하나에 불과했을 것입니다. 하지만, 이것은 살아있는 말씀입니다. 살아있는 말씀이 주는 선한 소망을 붙잡고 있으면, 제가 진정으로 필요한 것이 무엇인지 깨닫게 되고, 그것이 하나님께로부터 온다는 것을 알게 됩니다.

 

저는 제 마음속의 소망들이 하나님 보시기에 올바른 것인지 살펴보고 싶습니다.

그리고 올바른 소망과 품을 때, 하나님께서 저를 격려하시며, 더욱 그분의 능력에 의지하도록 인도하실 것이라 믿습니다.

그렇게 해서 저는 하나님의 힘으로 제 안에 불가능한것이 가능해지는 것을 경험하게 될 것입니다.

 

God Who Makes the Impossible Possible

 

Luke10, 25-37.

Here, there is the parable of the good Samaritan who helped a man whom he encountered on the road, who had been attacked by robbers. The love and compassion of the Samaritan were truly great. I have reflected deeply on this story, but still, I can only say to myself, "I can't do that." I have never had such a loving and compassionate heart, and I still don't.

 

In many moments when I feel that I should have love and compassion, I often become discouraged by the thought, "I can't do it." So, when I read the story of the good Samaritan, the first thought that came to my mind was the same. "How could I do that? It's impossible."

But when I longed to be like the Samaritan, I felt my heart becoming more sensitive. It was as if someone was telling me, "It's okay. It's not wrong that you can't do it. To make the impossible possible, you need help." This message became a comfort to my discouraged heart.

And soon, I realized that the help comes from God, who makes the impossible possible. A right hope led me to seek and rely on God.

 

If I had only been stuck in my own questions and thoughts, I might not have heard God's message. If that had been the case, the parable of the good Samaritan would have just been one of many parables written in the Bible, without giving me any understanding. However, this is the living Word. When I hold on to the right hope that the living Word gives, I realize what I truly need, and I come to understand that it comes from God.

 

I want to examine if the hopes in my heart are right in God's sight. And when I hold the right hope, I believe that God will encourage me and guide me to rely more on His power. In this way, I will experience the impossible becoming possible within me through God's strength.
