새 포도주와 새 부대

마가복음 5:37-38

“새 포도주는 새 부대에 넣어야 한다”는 말씀을 곰곰이 생각해 보았습니다.

새 포도주를 낡은 부대에 넣으면, 낡은 부대는 그것을 담아낼 수 없습니다. 이것은 마치 내가 아무 도움도 받을 수 없는 상황에 있는 것처럼 느껴지게 합니다. 그러나 어떤 상황에서도 우리의 마음이 하나님 앞에서 정직하다면, 우리는 계속해서 하나님의 도움을 받을 수 있습니다. 하나님께서는 어디에 있든지 항상 자녀들에게 영적인 양식을 공급해 주시기 때문입니다.

그러나 우리의 마음이 하나님 앞에서 정직하지 않다면, 우리는 그분의 도움을 받을 수 없습니다. 하나님의 영적인 양식, 즉 새 포도주와 우리의 마음인 포도주 부대를 생각해 보면, 그 양식을 받기 위해 내 마음이 어떤 상태에 있어야 하는지 고민하게 됩니다.

나는 하나님 앞에서 매우 부족한 존재이지만, 내 마음이 항상 하나님 앞에서 정직해야 하는 이유를 깨닫게 되었습니다. 하나님의 영적인 양식 없이는 영적으로 건강할 수 없기 때문입니다. 정직함은 내가 겸손하게 하나님께 모든 것을 맡길 수 있도록 돕습니다. 왜냐하면 나 스스로는 아무것도 할 수 없기 때문입니다.

New wine and new wineskins

Mark 5:37-38

I was reflecting on the words, “Put new wine into new wineskins.”

When new wine is put into an old wineskin, the old wineskin cannot contain it. This reminds me of situations where I feel helpless. However, if our hearts remain honest before God in any circumstance, we can continue to receive His help. God consistently nourishes His children with spiritual food, no matter where they are.

But when our hearts are not honest before Him, we cannot receive His help. Thinking about the spiritual food from God, which is the new wine, and our hearts, which are the wineskins, I contemplate the condition my heart must be in to receive that food.

Though I am unworthy before God, I understand why my heart must always remain honest before Him. Without spiritual food from God, one cannot be spiritually healthy. Honesty helps me stay humble and entrust everything into His hands because I cannot do it on my own.
